Wattamolla to Curracurrong Walk
We started the walk from Wattamolla picnic area, along the Royal National Park coastline to Curracurrang cove, Eagle Rock, Curracurrong falls, and back.
It was worth taking the time along the walk to absorb the beautiful scenery and the calmness of the surroundings. The day was sunny and dry, with heavy wind predicted for the afternoon. I was glad we didn't get hit with the heavy wind during the walk as I wasn't looking forward to end up at the bottom of the cliffs.
These places are not reachable by public transport. You can access Wattamolla picnic area by car or foot. The fee for each vehicle entry is $11. The rest of the way to Curracurrong falls must be done via the walking track. This is why this walk is so much quieter and calmer, and the sceneries are not ruined by a crowd of people's heads.
Wattamolla is a popular picnic area, lagoon and beach in the Royal National Park.
Two small waterfalls were seen near the car park. The beach looked like a nice place for swimming, except nobody was dare enough to swim in this cold winter day.
The walk from Wattamolla to Curracurrong was relatively flat and relaxing. The view along the way was magnificent. Let the photos do all the talking.....
Heading into Curracurrang cove.....
At CurracurrAng cove I realised the waterfall I wanted to see is actually at CurracurrOng, and we were only half way there. Talk about confusion with the names.
Finally arrived at the upper Curracurrong falls.

.... and the spectacular Curracurrong falls, in which the creek flows straight off the edge of the cliff and into the ocean.
Next to it is the view of the Eagle Rock, looking out into the ocean.
The next challenge is to walk the whole Royal National Park coastline from Bundeena to Otford..... 27km in one day. For today, I was glad that I could sit on the rock and enjoy the view without worrying about time limitation.
