Uncouched Potato

On this extremely hot 40℃ autumn day, we decided to walk off the beaten track, down to Belmore Falls, at Morton National Park. First we made a quick trip to the Hindmarsh Lookout for a view over Kangaroo Valley. Then we walked along Belmore Falls Lookout Track to this point, where we needed to jump the fence to continue. The track itself was narrow but very clear and well defined as it was an old official walking track. The track is closed now, probably due to safety risks and rock falls in the area. There were two signs to prevent you from going down this track, so you will need to proceed at your own risk. There were some fallen trees on the track which we needed to climb over or crawl under. Some parts of the track were a bit muddy. It took us about 20 minutes to get to the waterfall. It hadn't rained for a while so the waterfall did not look as impressive as last time we were there. However, that also meant walking across the creek bed was easy ...

We saw the name of this track on the map and thought..... Are you serious? Minnehaha Falls at the end of Minni-Ha-Ha Road. All I can say after looking at it was "haha..." We were determined to find out if this is the official name. The name of this reserve is in fact Minnehaha, no joke. It is a beautiful short walking track that ends at the waterfall, Minnehaha Falls. The rain was drizzling while we started our walk. It was a peaceful and easy walk, There was a small river at the beginning of the walk. I guess the water in this river runs to the waterfall. We walked along the ridges on a flat path to a lookout. We could see that the waterfall was positioned at a much lower level than us. I wondered whether we could get to the bottom of the waterfall. I have seen photos taken right next to the waterfall and I was very keen to get there. Not long after, my question was answered. After a week of heavy rain, I thought it would be a perfect time to visit some waterfalls. All the waterfalls and their lookouts were within a short walk from the car park. Very easy access for everyone. National Falls This is a waterfall near the suburb of ... Waterfall (surprise!). This is a short walk, starting from a lookout of the top fall. Then stepping down the steps to the bottom of the falls. Kellys Falls This is a waterfall near Helensburg.
